War with Iran A major U.S.-Israeli attack on Iran killed the country's Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, President Donald Trump said, in "major combat operations" that followed weeks of rising tensions over Iran's nuclear program.   In remarks earlier Saturday, Trump said the military operations were aimed at "eliminating eminent threats from the Iranian regime."
